Photo share & testimonials
Each person has his or her own story to tell and their own reason for wanting to include one of our Golden Retrievers in their lives. We have had the privilege of meeting the most wonderful people while raising Goldens. We consider ourselves truly blessed by knowing all of you. Our lives are fuller and more complete because you became a part of it!
We love getting emails and letters from you telling us how you and your Goldens are doing.
Here are some letters, emails and photos from our North Star Golden Retriever- extended family.
These wonderful emails and letters have been posted just as we received them. We have changed nothing on them except for the omission of any personal information.

“This dog saved my life with his love & friendship.”
Hi Susan! This is Matt V. owner of Ruger! He is my best friend and the most talented dog ever! I just thought you would like to know.
He also must be half polar bear haha I’ve seen him hold his breath for 20+ seconds just swimming around under water haha.
Ruger has been awesome! Everyone is amazed to watch him dive for toys/rocks! It’s pretty hilarious to watch. He is a super intelligent.

Cookie = Joy
Hi Susan,
Happy new year and hope all is well. Cookie will be turning 3 on March 24th. She is truly the love of our lives. She travels everywhere with us. She is real easy going and loves to be around all of our family members. She essentially has different vacation homes. We have friends who have an in ground swimming pool. She will swim the entire time. Now we have snow and she is a hoot out there and loves chasing snow balls. squeaky ball toys are her favorites and she loves to retrieve especially for my mom. Her best friend is another golden retriever by the name of Holly. Everyone in the neighborhood love to stop by and watch them play and then poop out and relax close together.
Thank you again for providing her to us. We love her so so so much and could not imagine our lives without her.
Great big hug!
Lots of love,
Juli, Pete and Cookie!

“Three Goldens”
Susan,
This is my favorite picture of my boys. This was taken early this year, somewhere in Feb or March. From left to right on picture is my big Bear, Maxie in front and my sweet little Jakey on the right. I lost Jakey this spring just 3 days before his 13th birthday. No puppy will ever replace Jakey. I will always love him and I know he is waiting for me across the Rainbow Bridge.
These are my kids. I know now that the time is now right to bring another bundle of golden joy to this family. Both Bear and Max were purchased from you and I could not love them any more than I do right now and always.
With love,

Captain Morgan crusin’ with the top down…
Hi Susan,
Thought I’d share a picture of Captain, the weather has been so nice I’ve been able to take him for rides in the convertible with the top down! He’s over 50 pounds, is house trained and has learned many tricks, sit, stay, paw, down, come. He LOVES playing with his sisters Bacardi and Bailey and his brothers Shooter and Baxter and he loves going for walks on the bluff and swimming in the many lakes we have here. He is truly part of our family!

I wanted to thank you for the most wonderful dog and member of our family.
Charlie Parker has recently received his “Canine Good Citizen” and is on his way to becoming a therapy dog. He is absolutely gorgeous and has a remarkable temperament. I have attached a photo for you to enjoy; it is of Charlie Parker being the skipper on our boat in Lewis Bay at sunset in Cape Cod.

Gus & me… BFF’s
I don’t know if you remember my family but we got our golden from you around 3 years ago. My name is Milisa Parker and we live in Parker Idaho. Gus is the highlight of our family and extremely spoiled. He lives on our farm and his favorite activity is going for rides in the back of the pickup.
His dad is Jericho and I think his moms name was Honey. He is very popular in our little community. EVERYone loves him. I’m so glad I found you on Facebook:) Thanks for our wonderful GUS!!!

Mackenzie… living the good life
“Mackenzie is still living the good life on Balboa Island, California. This photo was sent to us by one of the countless people that admire him on their walk around the island.
There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t hear comments on how smart and gentle he is with both senior citizens and young children. A credit to his parents and your early upbringing. We would be thrilled to see Mackenzie’s picture on your website or facebook pages.”

Sleeping Like A Baby… Jasper & Daddy
Hi Susan,
I just wanted to check in and tell you how things are going. We decided to
name him Jasper and I got pet insurance yesterday. His first vet appointment
is Monday so we’ll see how that goes. But he has been a really good dog so
far. I really think he is already feeling comfortable here. After the first
night he has been sleeping with us during the night and we are attempting to
crate train him during the day. I’m not sure if he likes the heat here right
now. When we go for walks as soon as we get outside he’ll get under a tree
and lay down. So in order for him to cooperate enough to go potty I have to
carry him across the field and then he’ll walk back towards the apartment.
He hasn’t been much of a barker and loves to play. Also to my surprise he’s
been really good with the other dogs in the neighborhood. Anyway thanks
again, he really is an incredible pup.

Susan,
I’m sending a few pictures of now 10-week-old Bella. She’s absolutely adorable and we’ve all fallen in love with her. She’s such a calm, sweet little girl who’s just now starting to get into some mischief!
Thanks for your all your help and advice in choosing the perfect puppy for our family. It’s rare to find someone who cares as much as you do about both the puppies and their new people.
We’ll send more soon.

More pictures of Luke, as promised…
Poor little guy had his surgery on Monday (neutered)…they needed three people to hold him down to sedate him, apparently he was trying to lick all of their faces.
He continues to stop traffic wherever we go.

Luke: “You mean I’m not as small as a Yorkie..???”
Luke is absolutely amazing!. He is a stubborn as a mule…but he is sweet and gentle and extremely loving. He thinks that he is a lap dog and loves to be held and cuddled with…My daughter Maggie holds him like a toddler in her arms…even at 60 pounds. Everywhere we take him he literally stops traffic. Everyone comments on his beautiful head and his fantastic color. He absolutely hates to be left alone…so it’s a good thing that we can take him to work!
Luke is a chewer, unlike our Sandy, but he only chews his things…can’t hardly keep a toy…he usually tears it apart instantly…including his bed…we’re working on that aspect!
I am attaching a few photos, but have more at work to send soon…

“Finally! I have my Finnley…”
Hey Susan,
I wanted to email you and tell you how much I love my sweet Finnley girl! When I first saw her at the airport I knew she was going to be perfect. She began sleeping out of her crate when she was about 3 1/2 months old and never chewed up anything more than a piece of paper. She can be trusted to be alone for long hours and never has to be kenneled. She had very few accidents in the house, which I credit you and your family for. She is so amazing! She is incredibly smart and loves everyone and every dog she meets. She listens wonderfully well and knows how to sit and stay. Her temperament is perfect, she’s very relaxed and likes to just hang out and snooze but when I go hiking and walking she enthusiastically comes along!……

Thank you for my sweet baby…
….I can’t begin to thank you for your thoroughness and honesty as a breeder. I will never buy a Golden from any other breeder but Northstar Goldens. Thank you for providing me with a best friend that is not only a wonderful dog but a loving companion who makes my day everytime I open the door to my house.
I have attatched some photos of her.
Thank you Susan,
– Raenelle & Finnley, Montana

Baby Blossom
Hi Susan,
I just wanted to write you a quick note to let you know “Red Girl” arrived safely. She is doing very well. Owen had the honor of naming her…we will be calling her Blossom! She did surprisingly well last night in her crate — she only cried for an hour or so and then fell to sleep — she awoke at 5am…no accidents or cries during the night!
We had a lot of fun with her today. We are all bonding well. Owen said, “Mom, I love her so much I am afraid my heart is going to burst!” We will send some nice pictures of her and let you know how she is doing in the coming weeks and months. For now, her are some “quick” snapshots from today!
Warmest regards,
– Bethlee, Owen & Blossom, Florida
Marley “the son of Harley” – helping out with the dishes
Hi Susan-
I’ve been wanting to send you a quick update on Marley, but life is just so busy with the holidays, girls and new puppy! I’m hoping that you won’t have any trouble opening the attached pictures, they are a miscellaneous bunch from the past couple of months.
Marley “the son of Harley”, is now 28 lbs. and trys to eat everything! He is alot of fun but has a little mischievous personality, which keeps us on our toes. He climbs into the dishwasher every chance he gets to “prewash” the dishes, chews the furniture legs, steals the girls PB & J sandwiches and jumps over the back of the sofa — its great (most of the time). He is a very smart dog and it is becoming much easier to work with him as far as discipline. He now sits, shakes, comes and we almost have rolling over mastered. I bought the furniture gel that is supposed to deter him from chewing, but Marley likes the taste and licks it off! He is something else.
We all love him so much and would like to thank you for allowing our family to adopt Marley. He adds so much excitement to the house! I love getting him out of his crate in the morning, he just wags his tail and wants his belly rubbed. He has a bit of a stubborn side but most of the time we find it humorous. It is so neat to be learning his personality. He is great with the girls. Marley and our cat have not become friends yet. Marley wants too but the cat runs in the other direction for fear that Marley will pounce on him. He loves the snow and likes to go hiking on the little mountain out back with my husband.
I could just go on and on……but it’s past my bedtime so please stay in touch and let me know if you have any trouble viewing the attached pictures.

I know everyone thought I was nuts for crying when we picked up Chandler but BC and I just love him more than anything! He is the perfect fit for us and is the biggest little monster! He is into everything and totally knows how darn cute he is!!! So it’s only fitting that I sent you a picture of him trying to eat one of my handbags and got himself stuck!!! Thank you so much for him he is truly awesome!!!

Ooops! Look who got his head stuck! – Ruger
Hi,
I thought I would send you some pics of Ruger (like the gun). He put his
head through the gate we have up to keep him out of the kitchen while we
cook. He scared me so badly when he did that. It took a while to get him out
but no harm was done…
I’m so happy we found you. He’s such a great puppy. Thank you!
